**Review**: This book is a love it or hate it kind of thing, there’s no middle ground on this one.  I actually enjoyed it, despite some very graphic/violent scenes in the book (i.e. rape).  It is definitely not for the faint of heart so make sure to mentally prepare yourself before you read.  The heroine in the book, Kaitlyn, is a wash for me.  There were times that I loved her wit and times where she acted like such a spoiled brat that I struggled to make any kind of emotional connection to her.

Terra Harmony did a fantastic job creating a villain in this book.  It’s almost as if she had personal experience with someone and wrote those into the book.  I was never able to feel any empathy for him even though at some point I think the author was trying to coax those feelings from the reader.

I only have a few complaints.  First, both the beginning and the end of the book are very abrupt.  It literally goes from one extreme to the next and there is really no explanation as to how or why.  Also, the book seemed extremely short to me.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who are interested in reading something different for a change.  I think this author has a great writing style and will continue to get better with each book she writes.  I’m very much looking forward to the next book as the cliffhanger left me eager to stay up way past my bedtime and dive into book 2!
